At the end of the event, the women in each group fell silent, and one after another the groups found their way through the crowd to the largest room in the show room. There they faced the audience as a united tableau, and speaking all at once, falling silent, speaking again, falling silent, they set the stage for the final act. One after another each woman stood and made an improvisational statement of her own devising, speaking on behalf of her hopes and dreams for women’s survival.
