The youth involved in The Roof Is On Fire identified
conflicts with police as a major concern. These pervasive conflicts
are embedded in both youth and adult media cultures. As a means
of exploring mutual distrust, TEAM created a series of six weekly
dialogs between twenty youth and police officers, collaborating
with Police Captain Sharon Jones and facilitators from the U.S.
Justice Department. A videotape titled Youth, Cops and Videotape
was developed by Jacques Bronson for use by the Oakland Police Department
for training in community policing.
