| The next performance, a collaboration with Allan Kaprow, consisted
of a broadly public invitation for the people of Joensuu to meet each other
in pairs or groups in the town market over the first Saturday of the festival.
A radio van in the market a provided access for market-goers to go on air
to invite a friend to join them. Outlines of their bodies were traced by
assistants as they lay on the ground, documenting the meeting in a way most
unusual for the normally clean and conventional Finns. As the day ended
stalls were removed revealing a chalk portrait that was swept away by a
coordinated team of street walkers. |
