This collaboration between Finnish and American artists was produced by Suzanne Lacy for the Meeting of the Worlds, an international music festival produced this particular year by the Performers and Artists for Nuclear Disarmament. In a small Finnish town near the border of Russia, the festival featured performers from all over the world. Lacy was asked to create a series of events that would engage residents of this small town with the festival which often attracted national and international but not local audiences. The work was created as four performances on the theme of borders and took a year of visits to produce.
