This large-scale art and community development project had a core of 30 young women from diverse backgrounds who worked with Lacy to design workshops, public appearances, media reports, and "hand painting events" to recruit young women into the project. These youth were trained in public art during an initial two-week workshop where they were paid to learn introductory theory and practice. Over the course of the next year the young women met two to three times per month to design and stage performances using Mendhi, the henna hand-painting techniques, they published a zine and participated as speakers in community events.
